Label Description: Carlo Rizzi is joined by Tenor Laurence Brownlee in Opera Rara's first of two volumes of Songs by Donizetti! This project seeks to cast light on the influence of Italian composers in the world of 19th century song writing (a realm that has often been dominated by French and German composers) and Donizetti's extensive contributions to this world with nearly 200 songs to his name, many of which are rarely performed.
